How to Get There – Itineraries

You can visit our region with your own vehicle, by one of the following routes:
  1. 1. Via highway 16 (Thessaloniki – Ouranoupolis). On the Thessaloniki – Nea Moudania road, take the exit at the Thermi overpass, then head towards Agios Prodromos. Continue for 24 km to reach the Municipality of Aristotle and the first village, the historic capital of Arnaia. From there, either through Stagira or through Panagia-Gomati, you reach the municipal capital of Ierissos. Estimated travel time: 1h for Arnaia (70 km), 1h 40min for Ierissos (105 km).
  1. 2. Via Egnatia Odos. Take exit 25 (Redina) or exit 26 (Asprovalta) to reach the village of Olympiada, and from there continue on to Ierissos. Estimated travel time for Ierissos 1h 35min (105 km).
  1. 3. Via Polygyros. Follow the first route but do not head towards Agios Prodromos; instead, continue straight and then take the Polygyros-Plana road to reach the village of Gomati and from there continue on to Ierissos. Estimated travel time for Ierissos 1h 45min (124 km).

From Thessaloniki, you can also take a bus operated by KTEL Halkidikis; the bus terminal is on the 7th km of the Thessaloniki – Nea Moudania road (tel.: +30 2310316555)

From the city, you can reach the KTEL Halkidikis bus terminal on the following city bus lines operated by OASTH:

  1. 1. OASTH city bus no. 36 (departs from Voulgari station – terminal of route no. 31, takes about 8 minutes).
  2. 2. OASTH city bus no. 45 (KTEL Makedonia terminal – KTEL Halkidikis terminal, departs every 20 minutes, makes 7 stops at Kolomvou, Aristotelous, Kamara, AHEPA, Ippokrateio, 25 Martiou).
  3. 3. OASTH city bus no. 79Α (departs from MAKEDONIA airport and operates 22 routes daily between 1 July and 31 August).

The night service between Ammoulaii and Trypiti is operated by the AXTADA speedboat, which does not carry motor vehicles or motorcycles. Speedboat “Ammouliani 2003”
