The promenade of Ierissos is one of the friendliest to visitors. It is fully pedestrianized, and never opens to vehicle traffic. Even municipal or other state vehicles are not permitted to drive in the pedestrian zone. Along the promenade there is a green lawn with park benches and a playground, and right next to it commences the sandy beach of Ierissos. The promenade is approximately 600 m. long. <\/p>\n

Along this pedestrian walkway there are beach bars, refreshment stands, tavernas, pastry shops, fast food establishments, and newsstands. Of course, everything is carefully positioned to allow for large vacant zones and easy access, and it bears no resemblance to the stiflingly dense situation in most seafront zones. Furthermore, any and all unlicensed structures, various add-ons, stalls, etc., that are aesthetically offensive are forbidden, and any new addition is visually pleasing. <\/p>\n

The beach is awarded a Blue Flag for its organization, and the beachfront establishments do not charge for umbrellas and sunbeds, while pricing overall is reasonable. During the day you can enjoy a swim at perhaps the best beach inside a village in Greece, and later have a fun night out without enduring the chaos that is typical on beachfront promenades. And for families with children, there is a sense of security. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
