Northern Halkidiki is fish heaven, and the area\u2019s clear waters guarantee the quality of the local fish. You can find any fish that you desire, and also some unique species not found elsewhere. <\/p>\n

Long and shiny blade-like mackerel, ash-colored chub mackerel, striped white seabream, silver-white gurnards, skipjack and gilthead seabream, whitish flounder and sheephead bream, broad thronback rays, red mullets, humble picarel and discreet sardines, anchovies, sand smelt, shellfish, cockles, ark clams, grooved razor shells, shrimp, crawfish, squid and cuttlefish. For the fortunate ones, dusky and white groupers from Agion Oros, that are more like piglets in size! Orkini is a local species that appears in Ierissos Bay in spring and early summer, where it migrates seasonally; it is unique, with a history lost to the ages \u2013 it even appears on coins from ancient Akanthos. The greater amberjack is also delicious, but definitely try fresh codfish. In Olympiada, mussels are a must. <\/p>\n

Roasted, fried, or boiled with some rock salt and olive oil-lemon vinaigrette, or with thin white sauce, or even with red sauce with tomato and wine, fish are the divas of the area. You should definitely try the recipe from Agion Oros, for fish with onion juice, lemon, and artichoke or potatoes, prepared in a large baking tray. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
